Toikka created the Kastehelmi range purely as a solution to a technical challenge. Using drops of glass to decorate a piece came to him when he was attempting to cover the joint marks left on the surface of pressed glass pieces due to the production process. It is now one of the most popular Iittala ranges and its sophisticated design is timeless.
