Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Flos in 2007 the Chasen Suspension lamp has a stainless steel body, borosilicate diffuser and aluminium base. The diffuser itself can be mechanically adjusted by opening the louvers to various degrees and controlling the emission of light. Urquiola described how the Chasen takes its inspiration from an ancient oriental instrument, the traditional bamboo whip used during the tea ceremony, whose delicate filaments continue to change shape. As a 2008 WallPaper award winner, this light is intelligently designed, and is bound to make a statement in any interior setting.
