2. Soft Minimalism
Uniting a balanced colour palette with selected styling, this look offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of a kitchen, into the cocooning world of the dining space. Even in an open-plan kitchen-diner the dining area can hold its own with the addition of a statement pendant light suspended over the table. A high dining table makes a great alternative to a kitchen island, making extra space for food prep as well as a relaxed eating area with bar stools. The addition of freestanding shelving or low-level storage can help define the dining zone within an open-plan space whilst keeping things organized.

Creative Colour
When it comes to dining rooms, a little bit of flair goes a long way. Selecting bold, modern elements such as a colourful dining chairs or a feature pendant light can invigorate the space without being overbearing. A dramatic light fixture above the table creates a focal point, adding interest to the space with a sculptural form. Pendant lights installed as a standalone piece or scaled-up in a trio or collection create maximum impact, whilst illuminating the table with a soft and diffused light.
Hanging a wall-mounted artwork by your favourite artist adds another later of personality, creating a powerful backdrop to frame the seating area. Whilst statement vases and candles on the table top enhance the warm and inviting environment.

3. Natural tones
Solid-wood dining furniture is the go-to choice for busy homes, combining a natural aesthetic with robust practicality that will stand the test of time. For smaller spaces an extendable or drop-leaf table is the perfect choice for everyday mealtimes, whilst being able to transform for larger dinner parties. Switching dining chairs for a long dining bench or a series of compact stools helps to maximize the available space with additional seating for extra guests. There are no rules to the type of seat which can be used in a dining room. Combining upholstered chairs with a loveseat in a breakfast nook works well for example, the important factor to consider is using consistent seat heights throughout the space.
We have a wide range of chairs, stools and benches on display at our Barnsbury Hall showroom, available to test out for comfort. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different colours, materials and designers in your dining set up, for an informal and fun vibe.
